SADIKI POST WHU

Noah Sadiki was disappointed with how Sunderland started the game but was happier with the second-half response, even if it wasn't enough to rescue a point. He says it's a learning opportunity as all eyes move to Burnley at home...

SLOW START COST US

“I think we started the game a little bit too late. Even in the second half, it was a little bit better but it wasn’t enough to claim three points. They were more angry than us. If you score three times in the first half then it’s difficult to come back from it.”

ONTO BURNLEY

“We have next week to react. That’s the beautiful thing about football, we always have next week to come back and show it was a mistake. I think in front of our fans, we need to give them something back.”

BROBBEY GOAL GIVES BELIEF

“For Brian and for us as well, to show that we can fight. We don’t have to throw everything in the bin right now just because we lost one game. I think we need to continue on the path that we were on because it was a good one. Don’t forget about everything, just continue on this way.”

DIARRA & TALBI

“I am happy for them to be back. We know the quality of these players and what they can bring to the team. Today, I think they showed that they wanted to win even though it was difficult by the time they came on. So, I’m happy for them both.”

LEARNING CURVE

“We knew this season wasn’t going to be that easy and we weren’t going to win every game. These are the moments where you need to learn from it and stay together, and react from it like I said.”

FANS

“They are there every time, every week. Every game they are pushing behind us. When we play at home, we need to give them something back.”
