May 24, 2025, to May 24, 2026: When everything went right for Sunderland fans.
Was that a good year, or what? A week can be a long time in football, so imagine how long a year can feel, especially when it’s been a year of the type we Sunderland fans have endured so often. Not this time, though.
May 24, 2025, to May 24, 2026, fairly flew by as the good times rolled, with one positive thing after another happening at a dizzying rate. A Wembley spectacular with yet another last gasp winning goal, a mad promotion party, all those summer signings, and a return to the big time that began with a thumping win over West Ham and ended with the double over Chelsea and European qualification, wrapped around a joyous romp around the Prem and the destruction, not once, but twice, of our noisy neighbours. Just to reassure you that it all did really happen, we’ve gathered together the very best bits, as seen through the eyes of Sobs, as a permanent reminder that this sort of thing does happen to us and how amazing it was...
