Regis Le Bris admitted that Brentford were the better team and, given the tough schedule, this was probably one fixture too far for our stretched squad. He's asked for patience though and sees this as a chance to put things right with a positive reaction.
ONE GAME TOO FAR
"We don't want to look for excuses. We knew before that this period was busy. We don't have the full squad, but at the same time we tried our best. We did well in this period because even with six or seven less players, we showed that it was possible to be competitive in this league. Today it was a bit too much for us. We'll recover and we'll have players available again soon."
COMPOSURE
"It's really important to stay composed. Obviously, the players and the coaching staff, the club and the fans are disappointed today, but we have to accept the defeat."
SIMILAR TO COV LAST YEAR
“It happened last year at Coventry, for example. It was more or less the same feeling - we were a bit tired, below our usual level and we got punished. But it doesn’t mean that we aren’t a good team. We have to show resilience, especially at this level.”
BETTER TEAM WON
"I think first of all Brentford were good. They were at their level. It's a tough place here. They were strong, direct, good in second balls and relentless. Even if we didn't start well, we had the opportunity at the beginning of the second half to get back in the game."
ENZO PEN MISS
"I think we showed better energy, but when you miss this kind of opportunity, it's like a switch in the game. The energy of the crowd got even better and we lost ours."
ONTO EVERTON
"I think today we probably had too many mismatches on the pitch. It's about duels, it's about composure with the ball. The duels we had were in favour of Brentford. It's football. Just accept the defeat, learn from this experience and move forward."
