LOAN ROUNDUP PART THREE

ree

Sunderland sent 14 players out on loan in the last transfer window and their destinations have varied from teams playing in the European competitions and in top flights across Europe to the depths of non league in England. Here’s a quick rundown of how they’ve been getting on, with this being the final part of a three part series of articles:

PATRICK ROBERTS

Patrick Roberts has joined Birmingham City on a loan deal until the end of the season and so far he’s scored once and assisted once with his six appearances so far. He assisted a 94th minute winner at home to Swansea City and scored an equaliser seconds into the second half away to Wrexham. The Blues are 17th after 10 games in the Championship, five points clear of the drop and four points off the play-off places. They went out of the League Cup in the second round but there’s still the FA Cup to come.

JENSON SEELT

Jenson Seelt is spending the season in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg and has made one appearance so far for them, coming on as a substitute late on in a draw with Koln. Die Wolfe are 15th in the German top flight, sitting precariously two points above the bottom of the league. They are still in the DFP-Pokal, so do have something to distract them from a potential relegation scrap.

NAZARIY RUSYN

Nazariy Rusyn is in Poland currently with Arka Gdynia and will remain with them until the end of the season. He has made six appearances, three of which have been starts. His team are 13th in the Polish top flight, three points ahead of the relegation spots. As a newly promoted team, avoiding the drop will be their main aim. They remain in the Polish Cup.

MILAN ALEKSIC

Milan Aleksic is also out on loan in Poland for the 2025/26 campaign but he has an option to buy in his contract when his temporary arrangement comes to an end. He’s with Cracovia and, at the time of writing, has played on four occasions, of which two have been starts. They’re fourth currently, inside the European spots on goal difference and one point behind third place. They, too, remain in the Polish Cup.
