As always, Regis Le Bris kept his cards close to his chest when discussing injured duo Noah Sadiki and Omar Alderete. He says they'll both be assessed in the build-up to the Wolves game but currently are still considered available to play.
INTERNATIONAL INJURIES
“For Noah, we checked him yesterday and he seems okay. We will see after the training session today and tomorrow whether he is really available, but we are positive. For Omar, after his 20 hours of flying we will see! We’ll check him this afternoon, but we had a quick chat with him yesterday and he was positive. We’ll have to wait.”
SADIKI ANKLE
“It is still possible to be worse, but at the minute it seems okay. He had this injury before, so he knows how it evolves and knew how serious it was when he felt the pain. He is positive at the minute.”
COULD THEY BOTH PLAY ON SATURDAY?
“Yeah, at the minute it is possible.”
HEAVY SCHEDULE
“I think at that level our players like playing intense games against strong teams and they are used to doing it, so it is not a big problem for me.”
INTERNATIONAL BREAKS
“It is part of life in football now. We try to take advantage of the situation - if we just complain then I think nothing can happen. So, for the players with their national teams, I think they are really well connected with this ambition to play at the next World Cup. For the players who stayed with us, we worked hard and I think the game against Livingstone was useful from that perspective. I hope the reconnection we have this afternoon will be positive, like it was in the last international break.”
INJURED SQUAD MEMBERS STILL INVOLVED
“For example with Habib, he is still connected with our IDP (Individual Development Plan) program. In that program we are trying to keep him connected with the story and the journey of the squad, so he can learn from the experiences of his teammates and be ready when he is fit again.”
