XHAKA POST COVENTRY

Granit Xhaka was understandably dejected after captaining the Lads to a 3-1 defeat today, but called for togetherness through these tough times.
TOUGH RESULT
"A different feeling, lets call it like this. Hard to take. We came here with big hope, we prepared really well during the week, but if you don't do the things you have prepared for and that we spoke about during the dressing room, there is no chance to win any game."
BASICS AND STANDARDS
"Okay is not enough. Not in this league. It is not possible that one day is good and one day is bad - it is difficult to continue like that. I don't know what to change. There are so many mistakes from our side. Simple passes and simple duels we are not winning. If you are not doing the basics first then forget about the rest. The feeling is horrible at the moment."
SIMPLE MISTAKES
"At 2-0 down, in the dressing room I think we knew we had to be better in the second half. We came back in the second half very well but the 3-0 killed us. We still believed, we scored to make it 3-1 and tried our best. But I will say that if you make the same mistakes every weekend, and every weekend you concede two or three goals, there is no chance of winning football games."
STICK TOGETHER
"It's difficult for the fans to take and I know it's frustrating. It is the same for us as well. But the words "stick together" and "til the end" are not a surprise for this football club. It has a big meaning and that goes for us and for them (the fans). We stick together and we have to believe in each other as well. When everything is going well, it is easy to support someone. When something is going bad, we can see who is on the boat and who isn't. We need everyone. We need ourselves, our teammates, the staff, the fans. We need the support. I am sure and I believe that we can bounce back but we need to stop the mistakes we are making at the moment."
