WELCOME INJURY BOOST

Although Alan Browne won't be available for Boro on Monday, the midfielder has returned to training at the Academy of Light this week and will resume full-contact training with his teammates next week. This comes as a big boost to Sunderland, so hopefully he can stay fit to give us more strength and depth coming to the business end of the season. Romaine Mundle is also expected to be back in training in the next seven days with Tommy Watson set to return within a fortnight, which will give the side some much-needed balance on the left wing. With Ian Poveda and Jenson Seelt also looking sharp for the U21s, are Sunderland finally approaching a decent position in terms of injuries?

RELIEF TO SEE TRIO RETURN

"Romaine should return to training next week, which is good news. Browney started this week, although it is non-contact at the minute. He should be okay (for full training) next week. We will have to wait maybe ten days more for Tommy, but he is okay.”

THREE MONTHS TO GO

“I am happy. If we can have the full team then that would be good news, but it is not often the case in a full season. If for the last three months, we could have the full squad, it would be good. But we will see because it doesn’t work like that.”
