It's hard to keep up with the rumours on Wearside but we know there's at least one more addition on the way, whilst there have been mixed reports on another potential (re)signing.
SIMON ADINGRA
Following yesterday's confirmation that Chemsdine Talbi had signed for the club on a five-year deal, news soon broke that Brighton winger Simon Adingra was on a private jet headed to the North East for his medical. The Ivory Coast international is reportedly set to join the Black Cats in a deal supposedly worth £18m up front with a further £2.5m in add-ons. At 23 years old, Adingra will instantly become one of the 'old heads' in our dressing room! This deal will take Sunderland's total spend to over £100m already...
JORDAN HENDERSON
There was a point in the last 48 hours where it looked like a Hendo homecoming was immintent. However, the club seem to have poured cold water on this through the various local news outlets. The Echo have claimed that Sunderland aren't pursing a move for their former academy star and a move, while not totally off the table, is "highly unlikely" at this stage. He's just left Ajax so either way, it's one to keep an eye on at time progresses.
ROMAINE MUNDLE
According to Sky Sports, Sunderland are in contact with Romaine Mundle over a new contract, partly to put to bed any talk of the winger joining Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven. PSV will reportedly come in for Mundle in the event that they lose Johan Bakayoko to Nottingham Forest. Mundle's current deal expires in 2028 but, being one of our most Premier League-ready talents, he's definitely a player we'd prefer to keep hold of even with the arrival of Adingra.
