RLB: SWANS

Following another disappointing performance, Regis Le Bris has once again insisted that at this stage in the season managing the squad in time for the play-offs is the priority, and he's also spoken about Sunderland's recent struggles in front of goal.

DISAPPOINTING DEFEAT

"It's a disappointing result, especially at home. We expect more. We wanted to win but it wasn't possible, we had a lot of the ball but we didn't create many chances. It was difficult to build up under their pressure, they were well organised and to be fair it wasn't easy to find a solution. We didn't find a good rhythm."

MANAGE THE SQUAD

"I think we can find different reasons for our performance but I think probably the first is that in this period, it's important to manage the squad. We have to refresh some players, so for example so we're not rushing the process with Enzo. This option gives you a chance for Harrison, and a first league start is an experience you have to learn from. We are in this period with a specific goal at the end of the season. We want to win every game but we want to manage the squad, to build gradually the best shape of the squad so they are available [for the play-offs]. And during that time, we give young players opportunities to grow."

IN A GOOD POSITION

"Even with the defeat we almost secured the fourth place, so it shows so far we've been really good. Now the main purpose is to keep the level and at the same time to refresh the players and have a fresh squad at the end of the season."

ISIDOR FORM

"Wilson was well connected with the game and I appreciated this. When a striker doesn't score he can be really frustrated and disconnected with the game, I don't think Wilson was. He was connected, he tried to run in behind... it's just a question of giving him time. Sometimes with a striker all it needs is one event, it can change the dynamic. I'm really confident for the future. For strikers, the dynamic is often like that. They can struggle for long periods then it can click. We don't know why, when or how. But I was pleased with the way he worked with the team. He's very well connected and it's just a question of time."

ISIDOR/MAYENDA

"We spoke a lot together about not only the striker position. Wilson fits well with the game model because he's always in behind and is a good finisher. Eli improved massively this season. He's more versatile so it gives us more opportunities to play with him as a striker, a 10, as a winger left or right. We need everyone fit and ready for the final stage."

CREATING CHANCES

"I'm a little bit concerned, but not too much to be fair. It's a question of references. Trai played off the left so this disturbed the triangle we have built on this side of the pitch, for example. That triangle has worked really well this season. Chris today played as the eight on the left side, which is unusual... these are two examples that show how we do not have the same references. We are trying to create some other ones to have more flexibility and when we are able to reset our references, I think we will be fine. I'm not too worried by this situation."
