RLB ON CLUB STRUCTURE

ree

Regis Le Bris has reflected on Stuart Harvey's role at Sunderland and how the recruitment structure changed over the summer, with the addition of Florent Ghisolfi to the backroom staff.

STUART HARVEY EXIT

“It is part of the evolution and journey of the club, and his journey as well. He was really important for the club, even last season we worked together and I think the output was really positive. After that, the structure of the organisation evolves and you need to accept some different journeys.”

CHANGE IN STRUCTURE

“I think the organisation is evolving with new ideas. Flo (Ghisolfi) and Kristjaan (Speakman) are working hard on this topic and probably in the next couple of months we will have different options for the structure.”

VERSATILITY

“It is tough because at this level managing different positions and different tactical demands is not easy. We have probably three, four, five players able to do that but we also have players who are really strong in their own position, which is positive as well. It is probably a question of experience and it is needed because we will have different problems to solve, injuries and suspensions as well. We are learning but it is a question of time.”

STARTERS AND FINISHERS

“We are working hard on their connection when they are on the bench as well, because it is important. When you start a game, you start with the story of the game - you face a new opponent with a new challenge. From the first minute until maybe 45, 60 or 70, your players are on the same page. But when you come off the bench, you have to discover really quickly the set-up of the game. So when you are on the bench it is important to assess the opportunities and challenges, the style of play and so on, so when you come onto the pitch you are ready. We try to implement these ideas and I think so far it has worked well.”
