RETAINED LIST CONFIRMED

Sunderland have confirmed their retained list for 2026/27, with four senior players set to leave.
Dan Neil, Dennis Cirkin, Bertrand Traore and Niall Huggins are the players in question, with a raft of Academy of Light personnel also set for release: Oliver Bainbridge, Marshall Burke, Dan Cameron, Thomas Lavery, Elias Lenz, Ethan Moore, Adam Richardson, Rhys Walsh, Jake Waters, Ivan Struk and George Bell.
Finn Geragusian, Liam Hunt, Charlie Dinsdale, Bayler Hester, Marcus Neill, Finlay Holcroft, Joseph Neild and Fleix Scott have all been offered professional contracts and, most crucially, the club remains in discussions with Lutsharel Geertruida.
