Sunderland lost their third game in a row, despite being the side with the most possession and having eight times as many shots as their opponents. Tyrhys Dolan’s first half goal was the only one in the 90 minutes.
ANTHONY PATTERSON: 6/10
The only goal was absolutely blasted into the roof of the net and he had basically nothing to do all game.
ALAN BROWNE: 6/10
Him misreading the ball led to their successful chance. Did alright aside from that but wasn’t brilliant.
CHRIS MEPHAM: 6.5/10
Coped quite well with the little threat their attack posed today. Long range passing was all over the shop though.
LUKE O’NIEN: 6.5/10
Defended well enough when he had to and got forward a couple of times, almost made a blunder with a simple free kick in the second half which could have caused some danger.
JOE ANDERSON: 7/10
I thought he played really well, some of his crosses looked quite dangerous and he helped out on the left wing despite not being a natural full back. Passing was decent as well.
SALIS ABDUL SAMED: 6.5/10
He was decent enough, he never did anything overly fantastic or overly terrible. There was one instance when he left the ball when trying to dribble forward.
JOBE BELLINGHAM: 7/10
A bit of a weird one from him, I thought he battled well for the ball when someone else was trying to steal it off of him or when he was trying to take it off of one of their players, however he was a bit too timid with loose balls that he could have won possession with.
TOMMY WATSON: 6.5/10
He looked dangerous at times but he lacked any end product, his teammates could have put some effort in with his crosses saying that.
HARRISON JONES: 7/10
Jones was one of our best players today and was always involved when we got on the edge of the box, especially in the first half. There were one or two times when he got into decent positions inside of the danger area as well.
MILAN ALEKSIC: 6.5/10
Looked bright, mostly before they scored though and lacked any end product.
WILSON ISIDOR: 6/10
Got lots of shots away, which is more than can be said for some of his recent performances. I did feel like he was lacking any of the killer instinct he had a few months ago though.
SUBS:
CHRIS RIGG: 6.5/10
Rigg put himself about and was an asset going forward.
ENZO LE FEE: 6.5/10
Had a couple of decent spells where he worked with the ball nicely, squandered a free kick however.
ELIEZER MAYENDA: 6/10
Mayenda had one promising moment with the ball at his feet but I didn’t notice him all that much.
PATRICK ROBERTS: 6/10
Blasted one well over from distance and never looked to have a killer instinct about him.
