Sunderland were given a Premier League reality check by Burnley as we lost to the Lancashire side 2-0 away from home. Both goals came in the second half, firstly from Josh Cullen and then from Jaidon Anthony.
ROBIN ROEFS: 5/10
Distribution not great. Nothing he could really do about either goal and didn't really have any other saves to make.
TRAI HUME: 5.5/10
Alright defensively, none of his balls into the box found anyone. One or two of them were put into dangerous positions however.
DAN BALLARD: N/A
Huge blow with him coming off so early on, felt it killed any momentum we could have generated.
OMAR ALDERETE: 5.5/10
Defensively solid but not as proactive with his passing compared to against West Ham United.
REINILDO: 6/10
Did quite a bit of running in the first half but eased off a lot in the second, as did everyone.
HABIB DIARRA: 6/10
Did alright with his passing but struggled when he had to battle for the ball.
GRANIT XHAKA: 5.5/10
Passing, up until the final third, was fine. Could have done better physically. Squandered a decent chance in the first half.
NOAH SADIKI: 6/10
He wasn’t awful, I think he could have offered a bit more going forward at times, especially in the second half, but he covered loads of ground.
CHEMSDINE TALBI: 6/10
Final ball was a bit off, had a good chance around 15 minutes in but just sent it wide. Work-rate was acceptable.
ELIEZER MAYENDA: 5/10
There was a dearth of service at times but I also think he allowed himself to be bullied as well. He should have scored with his one chance at point blank range a few minutes into the first half.
SIMON ADINGRA: 6/10
Like Talbi, work-rate was there but the quality wasn’t always present. A tad lightweight at the moment.
SUBS:
JENSON SEELT: 6/10
Did fine with his defensive duties but didn’t offer anything special in terms of balls forward.
ENZO LE FEE: 7/10
Did well after coming, was certainly lively. I’m not sure why he wasn’t used in the middle and was instead deployed out left. Got unlucky once or twice with the way the ball fell.
PATRICK ROBERTS: 7.5/10
Some nice dribbling and worked hard, his passing was good too.
WILSON ISIDOR: 5/10
Struggled to get ahold of the ball.
MARC GUIU: N/A
Looked positive, aside from a shot he messed up.
