PLAYER RATINGS: SPURS

Sunderland moved back into the top half of the Premier League table with a 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Tottenham Hotspur. After a goalless first half, we took the lead via a deflected effort from Nordi Mukiele just past the hour mark. We are now just two points off the top six.

ROBIN ROEFS: 9/10

Made seven saves, including one really good one towards the end of the opening 45 minutes and he avoided being caught out late on after a Spurs effort took a deflection.

NORDI MUKIELE: 8.5/10

He’s just getting back from being injured, so he didn’t always look totally comfortable but he did well to find the winner from quite a distance and also had a big chance around half an hour in.

LUKE O’NIEN: 8/10

Did well I thought but not flawless obviously, I think he got better as the game went on and played his part in the clean sheet.

OMAR ALDERETE: 8.5/10

Defensively fantastic and always seemed to be involved in battling for the ball. I’m glad that the penalty decision against him (O’Nien was also involved) was overturned.

REINILDO: 8.5/10

Impressed me today, fought for possession really well and didn’t mind putting a foot in when it was needed.

NOAH SADIKI: 9/10

Was buzzing around all game, had a few really good moments going forward and was always keen to get back and assist when they were coming at us.

GRANIT XHAKA: 8.5/10

Made a number of really important interventions throughout the game to kill their momentum. I did think he could have gone forward a few times rather than passing it back but no harm, no foul.

CHRIS RIGG: 7.5/10

Almost scored right before he was subbed off, with a well-struck effort that was blocked. He didn’t cope too well physically though and his passing wasn’t always accurate.

HABIB DIARRA: 8.5/10

Ran his socks off in the middle of the park and deservedly notched the assist. Struggled to come away with the ball once or twice.

ENZO LE FEE: 8.5/10

Missed a really good chance to get shot away but, other than that, he was superb and they basically couldn’t contain him.

BRIAN BROBBEY: 7/10

Missed two really good chances in the first half and couldn’t get any shots away in the second. Still, kept them occupied whilst he was on the pitch.

SUBS:

TRAI HUME: 7/10

Did what he had to in the last 10 minutes or so of regular time and was effective enough.

CHEMSDINE TALBI: 6/10

A bit sloppy going forward but it’s hard to be a winger and establish yourself in such limited time, should have started after scoring in our last match.

WILSON ISIDOR: N/A

I can’t rate him based on one touch.
