PLAYER RATINGS: MILLWALL

Sunderland were finally undone virtually in the last minute after a second half performance in which we struggled to leave our own half. A point keeps us top of the league on goal difference prior to Leeds facing Swansea on Sunday.

ANTHONY PATTERSON: 7/10

Four saves from him today, dealt with Millwall's physicality (particularly on set pieces) and commanded his box well and certainly wasn’t to blame for their goal.

LUKE O’NIEN: 6.5/10

He was generally good but had a bit of a howler at one point in the second half where he was easily dispossessed and then had a poor header clearance. Other than that his usual workmanlike self and was always willing to put his body on the line.

DAN BALLARD: 7.5/10

Alongside the rest of the defence he played very well and made numerous clearances throughout the game. Had a fantastic driving run in the second half to alleviate some pressure. There was one occasion where he gave away a silly corner though.

CHRIS MEPHAM: 8/10

Prevented a few corners and made their attack’s afternoon far less comfortable than it would have been without him. Not sure we would have gotten a point from that without him.

AJI ALESE: 7.5/10

Kept them from causing issues on his side of the pitch, mostly. Some of his balls forward were poor though and positioning could have been better. Overall it was really good to see Aji back on the pitch.

DAN NEIL: 7/10

He did well today and I didn’t really notice him making any errors. I think he should have had a shot at least once though.

CHRIS RIGG: 6.5/10

The same as Neil really but he was dispossessed a bit more often. The pair were overran in the second half, but that seemed to be more of an issue with our midfield shape rather than the individual players.

TOMMY WATSON: 6/10

Started brightly and pulled off a nice dribble or two against his fullback, but he struggled to retain the ball. In the second half he was forced to drop a little bit deeper and couldn't get going further up the pitch. Not a nice game to be thrown into for him.

ELIEZER MAYENDA: 6/10

There was a bit of threat from in the second half and he ran his socks off the whole 90 minutes. Perhaps he could have done better with one or two of his chances, but his sheer pace and ability to drive forward did cause the left back some problems.

AARON CONNOLLY: 7/10

Great to see him getting his first goal, very unfortunate about the injury. I’m not sure he offered an awful lot after the goal though.

WILSON ISIDOR: 6/10

Isidor wasn’t being supplied with the best of passes today but he wasn’t exactly able to cause too many problems for their back line when he was. Only had two shots in the match, both of which came in the same minute.

SUBS:

MILAN ALEKSIĆ: 6/10

Generally looked decent, if lacking in match sharpness. He probably didn't expect to play over half an hour today. Some nice touches and showed the ability to pick out a pass. He should have scored at the death and unfortunately his poor shot directly led to their equaliser.
