PLAYER RATINGS: BRIGHTON

2 min read

Sunderland were defeated by Brighton and Hove Albion two goals to nil, despite our opponents being down to ten men for just over half an hour.

ROBIN ROEFS: 4/10

Distribution shocking, maybe should have done better with the second goal as well?

TRAI HUME: 4/10

Why lunge in for the first goal? Awful mistake that forced us to chase the game for most of the second half.

NORDI MUKIELE: 4.5/10

Too slow getting it out from the back whilst we were losing.

KEVIN DANSO: 4.5/10

Looked really unsure of himself and thought he got bullied.

REINILDO: 6/10

Had a half decent game I thought, defensively sound but room for improvement going forward, that’s all of our players at the moment though.

GRANIT XHAKA: 5/10

Kept squandering our chances late on by shooting from distance, with the shots going nowhere. Also decided to pass rather than shoot inside the box in the first half.

NOAH SADIKI: 6/10

Completely average, struggling to find anything wrong with his performance but not proactive enough.

THOMAS MEUNIER: 5.5/10

Went off early on injured, hopefully nothing serious. Clearly not a winger though and should have scored but waited too long to get his shot away.

ENZO LE FEE: 5.5/10

Definitely not the best we’ve seen from him, had one or two decent moments on the ball but offered little else.

NILSON ANGULO: 3.5/10

Please drop him next game, couldn’t beat his man and didn’t offer anything of substance all game.

WILSON ISIDOR: 5/10

Gets a bit of credit for getting their player sent off but I don’t think he won a header all afternoon and didn’t challenge the goalkeeper.

SUBS:

MALICK FOFANA: 6/10

Had a really bright moment straight after coming on but wasn’t great after that. I don’t think he received the ball enough or got enough support though.

DAYANN METHALIE: 6/10

Always tough to come on as a defender whilst your team is chasing it. Defaulted to a six.

JOCELIN TA BI: 5.5/10

Made an awful touch at one point but he didn’t have much time to grow into the match.

JUAN ANGULO: N/A

Literally made one touch on his debut, so no rating.
