Sunderland got back to winning ways at the weekend and will look to build on that with another home game, this time against Bristol City on Tuesday night. We spoke with sports journalism student Jack Buchanan to preview the match...
Bristol City currently sit 12th in the table, six points off of the playoffs, is there much hope that gap can be closed down or does it look like a mid-table finish is likely?
Personally I think we're still a bit off of a real top six challenge, we've been far too inconsistent this season to really think about it to be honest.
What positions would you say you need to strengthen in the upcoming January transfer window?
We need a new goalkeeper, but more importantly a striker who can actually shoot would be handy!
What are your thoughts on manager Liam Manning?
I am a big fan of Manning personally. I think there have been clear signs of progression in our style of play, despite still facing some difficult results at times.
Who would you say is your best player?
This season, it's between Jason Knight, Max Bird and Anis Mehmeti. Mehmeti has finally found a decent end product in attack and we're really benefitting from that.
Which Sunderland player are you most worried about playing against?
Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham are probably the players that concern me the most, both of them of course being young talents who are beginning to really show their class this campaign.
What’s your score prediction for the match and goal-scorers?
I'm going to go with my heart rather than my head here and say we'll nick it 1-0 with a goal from Rob Dickie!
