Sunderland linked with former English Superstar. Sunderland have submitted an offer for English international Jack Grealish from Manchester City
The offer would see Sunderland cover part of his salary in a loan for the 30-year-old who seems to be out of favour of the new boss Enzo Maresca. It would include the possibility of a permanent move next summer.
Grealish spent last season on loan at Everton making 22 appearances, assisting six and scoring two before sustaining a stress fracture in January, ending his season early.
The winger has played in City’s first game of the season, coming off the bench against Bournemouth. As well as the Community Shield final loss to Arsenal.
Grealish joined City in 2019 for a huge £100 million deal from his boyhood side Aston Villa, becoming the most expensive English player in history at the time. He was part of the squad that won the treble as well as becoming a back-to-back Premier League winner the following year.
However, in the 2024-25 season, he became a bench player, starting only seven games and was absent for City’s squad for the Club World Cup before joining the Toffees.
Sunderland’s admission into the Europa League this season could be seen as a draw for Grealish as he looks to reignite his career after his poor spell at Manchester City. Everton are also still interested in getting the 30-year-old back on loan this season.
Florent Ghisolfi has also been linked with winger Igor Paixao from Marseille. It has been reported that Paixao has agreed personal terms, but the clubs have so far been unable to agree on the transfer fee.
