MUKIELE AND XHAKA POST SPURS

Match-winner Nordi Mukiele and captain Granit Xhaka have reacted to our win against Tottenham Hotspur.

LONG ABSENCE AT HOME

GX: “After nearly four weeks of not being at home, it was so important, to come back, to give the fans what they deserve and I think today we were the better team, we deserved the three points. Individually, as well as the collective, the power and energy that this team has is unbelievable. We knew before the season, halfway through the season and at the end of the season now, that we can beat everyone if we stick together and if we play like this, with this energy, with this mentality, the hunger, the desire. I’m so happy to be a part of the team and we’ll take the three points.”

SPURS DIFFERENT WITH NEW BOSS?

GX: “I think it was the first time this season that we are playing against a team who have changed their coach. We know the coach very well from Tottenham, he likes having possession, he has the hunger as well, the emotion and the mentality to win but we showed a great game from our side and in the end it’s up to us; how much we want it, how good we are with or without the ball and I think today was a nearly perfect game.”

THE GOAL

NM: “I think, in football, you have to take the chance, to try and that’s exactly what I did. Even if someone touched the ball, the most important thing for me is that it’s inside the net and the three points is the most important thing today. When we play at home, it’s our world, our tempo and this is exactly what we did today. I’m really happy with the performance of the team from everyone.”
