Regis Le Bris has been speaking about his striking options. Eliezer Mayenda has started games up front on his own, Wilson Isidor is our top scorer with two goals off the bench, and Brian Brobbey was our big-money deadline day signing. Who will start against Crystal Palace on Saturday?
EVERYONE IS INVOLVED
"It's still a question of momentum. I think we have many options which is really positive and we know that the journey in the Premier League will be long and will have different experiences, probably injuries - but hopefully not – suspensions, the African Cup. So we know that with eight or nine players they will have opportunities. Now, the momentum is positive so I think the players who started deserve to keep playing and we’ll see later during the game if it’s time to change."
BROBBEY
"He brings a different profile, think. He’s a pure striker with the ability to hold the ball and to run in behind and I think he is a good finisher with a different physical profile."
THREE ARE ALL DIFFERENT
"Eli, Wilson and Brian are different. For a manager and for the squad, if we can manage the different options according to what is needed in the game, it's better."
HEALTHY COMPETITION
"It’s very positive, for the output of the squad first of all because we had three different options, and for competition because I think at this level the players need competition. It is really positive to know that your teammate will push you and will help you as well. If the competition is well organised and accepted by the players then it is really positive for the output."
HONEST CONVERSATIONS
"I think it starts with a conversation and it is always like that, if they are aware of the situation. We have to step up in this Premier League, the gap is huge and we want to fill this gap but we need time to do it. We need support with new players and we need competition."
OPPORTUNITIES WILL COME
"For example, we can speak about Enzo. Enzo didn't start, Wilson didn’t start, but they trust the process and the challenge through the squad and the way we organise the competition in the team. They know that they will have the opportunity, they will have a challenge, they will have the support, and everyone is involved in the project. So at the minute it's not difficult to manage this part."
