Brian Brobbey has done his first interview since signing for the club on Monday night. He's spoken about what he heard about Sunderland fans and also some teammates he's already familiar with...
GOOD TO BE HERE
"It feels really good. I am with my whole family here, we went to the stadium, it's a nice stadium and really big."
WHAT TO EXPECT
"I am a team player, I like to hold the ball up and let my teammates come and receive the ball. And obviously I like to score goals! I am going to take everything that I've learned during my period with Ajax and also the Dutch team and bring it here to give full energy to this club."
WHY SUNDERLAND?
"Sunderland is a really nice club. And of course, the Premier League is the biggest league. I think it was time for a new challenge in my football career. Sunderland was the club who showed the most interest in me."
TRAORE / GEERTRUIDA / MUKIELE CONNECTIONS
"I had Berto (Bertrand Traore) on the phone yesterday because he's on international duty. We were calling and I was asking if he was coming. He said 'yes brother, yes'. And Lutsharel (Geertruida), I also know him from my period with the Dutch team. Nordi said it is a really nice club, a warm club with lovely people here. There are also great players, like Xhaka who has a lot of experience."
CHAT WITH RLB
"I had good conversations with the coach and the director and that is why I chose Sunderland. He was talking about the fans again and how they are always behind us, behind me and the whole team. He told me it is like a family here and I can develop really well here."
FAN CONNECTION
"Hopefully I will score many goals but first of all, if the energy is right then everything will come. I heard the supporters here are crazy, but crazy in a good way! So hopefully it is going to be good. As soon as I am on the pitch I will give my all and then we will see further. I hope to get the crowd behind me."
