NEW MUNDLE CONTRACT

Romaine Mundle has signed a new contract with Sunderland until 2030.

The winger has been a Sunderland player since February 2024, where he signed from Standard Liège, and has been part of the squad that took us all the way from the Championship to the Europa League.

The 23-year-old has eight goal contributions in 52 appearances for the Lads, seven of those coming during our Championship play-off winning campaign of 2024/25.

Sunderland AFC Director of Football, Florent Ghisolfi said: “Romaine has developed significantly since joining the Club, and we have seen his potential grow through his performances and his work on the training ground. He has important qualities that can make a difference at this level, particularly his pace, directness and ability to create opportunities. At 23, there is still plenty of room for him to develop further. We are pleased that he has committed his future to Sunderland, and we look forward to supporting him as he continues to grow and make an important contribution to the team.”

Mundle added: "I’m really grateful. It feels amazing to be a part of the Club and I want to prove myself and consistently build and give the fans what they want, but mostly I just want the squad to do well, compete and surprise people. I’m growing every day, training hard and the people around me are really helping so I think there’s a lot more to come.”
