WRIGHT FOUGHT OFF ILLNESS

Bailey Wright revealed that he was suffering with an illness in the days leading up to the game, and had to be isolated in a helicopter on the way down to Wembley...

MORNING SICKNESS

"I woke up at one in the morning the other day and I was throwing up all over the place. I was wondering if I would be alright for the game."

HELICOPTER

"So I didn't see the boys, didn’t train. Yesterday I trained, but I had to travel separately, so the club put a helicopter on for me to get down to London. I couldn’t see the boys yesterday so I was just locked in my room, but credit to the club for putting on a helicopter for me. It was better than sitting in the car for six hours or whatever it would have taken."

MENTAL

"But it just makes it that bit stranger I guess for myself personally. I didn’t quite get the preparation. I’ve always been someone who’s prided myself on my mental strength and just to prepare for the game. The club gave me the best chance to make sure I was ready."

GAFFER

"He's the hardest working manager of anyone I’ve come across. He puts in all the work to give us the best platform to perform, and I guess our record since he’s come in speaks for itself. As long as he’s here at the football club, the club will continue to do great things."
