WINCHESTER LOOKING AT THE POSITIVES

Carl Winchester spoke after the disappointing draw to Charlton, which saw us finish the weekend outside of the top 6.

MISSED OPPORTUNITY

"I think everyone there watching the game thought we should have taken all three points but it was down to taking the chances at the end of the day. The ball just wasn't going into the net and that's the most disappointing thing, but look if we keep performing like that I think we will win a lot more games. We just have to focus on ourselves and if we keep playing the way we did the last two games then we will be right up there."

COMMITMENT

"The gaffer came in and he's been brilliant with all the lads and told everyone what he wants plain and simple. In training the intensity has been brilliant. It will take a while for us to adjust to what way he wants to play, but he also wants hard work and commitment and I think the lads have taken to it well."

CONFIDENCE

"With two clean sheets now going into the Fleetwood game [on Tuesday night], I feel like there’s a lot of confidence now."

POSITIVITY

"Callum is in his first season as a young lad and look he'll go on to have a great career, he's a brilliant player. Arby has come in and been excellent, fair play to him he's been out a long time, he's come in and done brilliantly. Nath when he was playing at the start of the season he was brilliant for us. He was on fire and scoring a lot of goals. We have a lot coming back with Luke [O'Nien] coming back, Geeds [Aiden McGeady] coming back, [Jermain] Defoe coming back as well."

COMPETITION

"It's a strong squad and there is a lot of competition for places but you need that at clubs like this to succeed."
