WINCHESTER FRUSTRATED BY DEFEAT

Carl Winchester reflects on Sunderland's first loss of the season, taking positives from the game and looking forward towards Wimbledon next.

FRUSTRATION

"Frustrating, disappointed as well to see the chances we had. If we take them, it’s game over but it’s one of them ones. Look, we’re creating the chances, the game was there to be taken. It’s just one of them games, I think they had one shot on target and scored it. Disappointing in the end but we have to dust ourselves down and move onto Saturday."

POSITIVITY

"Definitely as you say, there was some great play. Some really great play. Just keep building on that, keep working hard and I’m sure we’ll win more games."

CLEAN SHEETS

"Obviously it’s a makeshift back four, well it was, I’m in right back but we’re working hard on the training ground every day with the manager, Macca and everyone so yeah, I believe the clean sheets will come."

RIGHT BACK

"Good, I enjoyed it. I’m just glad to be playing, I’ll give everything for the team every time I play. I just want to be out there playing and helping the lads out so I’m just buzzing to be playing."

WIMBLEDON

"You saw the home game against Wigan, the fans were brilliant. Even today they were outstanding, they always are. They come in their numbers and credit to them so we’ll need them on Saturday again."
