WINCHESTER CRAIC

Carl Winchester might have missed out on the play offs, but he had a good season for the lads. He’s been chatting about our promotion…

STILL BUZZING

“I would do anything to try and get this club promoted. I’m gutted I was out for the play-offs, but I played a big part in the season which I’m happy for. I trained in the week (before the final), but I think it was a bit too soon. I thought I would have been out a lot longer but I recovered quicker. I’m just buzzing, I’m absolutely buzzing. The lads got it over the line and I’m delighted for everyone. It’s been a long season. It’s had its ups and downs, but the lads dug in and I’m just delighted they got over the line in the end.”

MOVE ON UP

“That’s the aim. I’ll come back in pre-season and I just have to work hard and see if I can get a place in the team, but the aim is to come back and work my socks off like I have this season. I don’t quite know how long we’ll get off and when we are back in, but we have to rest up and go again next season because next season is massive again.”

THE GAFFER

“He’s (Neil) come in and he’s been brilliant - with everyone. He’s just one of those managers that seems to get the best out of people. He came in and we knew what we needed to do, and he’s done it. Fair play to him because, and everyone in this team has said the same about him, he’s top quality.”

LJ

“They are both two great managers. I have the utmost respect for Lee Johnson. He brought me to this club from Forest Green and gave me my chance, so I have total respect for Lee Johnson and I think he is a great manager as well. Obviously, they are different in which way they go about it, but I’ve got nothing bad to say about either of them. They’re both great managers and like I say, Alex Neil is brilliant.”
