Two main stories have been in the media today, relating to Ross Stewart and Chris Rigg.
STEWART LATEST
According to a Sports Illustrated exclusive, Luton Town are keen on signing Ross Stewart. The newly-promoted Premier League side are supposedly ready to test Sunderland's resolve with the striker entering the last year of his contract. Stewart is not expected to be fit for the start of the season as he continues his road to recovery but the Hatters' head of recruitment Mick Harford obviously has close links to SAFC. With no new contract agreed between Stewart and Sunderland as of yet, this may be a situation to keep an eye on.
RIGG UPDATE
The Athletic have reported that teenager Chris Rigg is set to stay on Wearside and sign a two-year scholarship with the club. Rigg turned 16 last week and is free to sign for any club, but it seems that the Black Cats have beaten the likes of Newcastle and Manchester United for his signature - no doubt a result of the ever-increasing opportunities for young players to break into the team at the Stadium of Light.
