Sunderland's impressive form over December has been recognised, with Tony Mowbray in the running for Championship Manager of the Month.
The Black Cats boss has been nominated alongside Burnley's Vincent Kompany, Sheffield United's Paul Heckingbottom and West Brom's Carlos Corberan.
Over the month of December, Sunderland picked up 10 points in five games, with 11 goals in that spell. Meanwhile, Kompany's table-topping Burnley scored 10 goals as they picked up four wins in four games. Under Heckingbottom, Sheffield United also won all four of their December games. Corberan has changed West Brom's fortunes around and last month they also collected 12 points, from a possible 15.
As things stand Burnley are top of the Championship, with the Blades just behind in second. Sunderland are currently eighth and West Brom ninth, although the Baggies did defeat Mowbray's men during December.
