STYLES V MILLWALL

Callum Styles drew the short straw and was dragged out for media duties after the Millwall game. Here's what he had to say.

NO KILLER INSTINCT

“I thought we dominated the game but didn’t really have that killer instinct, didn’t hurt them and just got caught on a transition which we knew about before the game, but didn’t deal with it.”

KNEW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN

“They had 11 men behind the ball, we knew that would happen and we knew how they played. We got into some good areas, didn’t really hurt them, and got done on a transition."

NAIVE

“I think there’s a little bit of naivety in terms of we knew what we were coming up against, but it’s just the little fine details in games like this. It can either go for you or against you in stodgy games and today unfortunately it went against us.”

DOWN TO THE FINE DETAILS

“We’ve been doing really well. Today we dominated the game as such but it’s just the fine details again. It’s either got to go for you or against you and at the minute it’s going against us. Again, we said before the game they’d hurt us on transition and they had one moment where they hurt us, whereas we had a lot of the ball and didn’t hurt them. It’s just the fine details as I say.”

ONTO THE NEXT ONE

“The away fans have been excellent, we’ve just to go there and enjoy the game, be a bit more freeflowing. It was a bit static today I think, not enough movement and counter-movement so we’ve just got to go and enjoy the game. When we do that we play better and we win games.”
