Tony Mowbray spoke about Anthony Patterson after the keeper kept Sunderland in the game at times against Millwall with a number of excellent saves. He's also explained why Jobe was rested - the teenager has played a massive part in Sunderland's season but has looked fatigued in recent weeks.
QUIET TEMPERAMENT
“He's been brilliant Patterson, ever since I walked in. He is such a calm, big, solid young man. It’s amazing watching him with his temperament. Goalies are often a bit loony, pointing and shouting and blaming everybody else. But this kid just does his job, you can hardly get a word out of him. We are delighted with him.”
