PLAYER RATINGS VS OXFORD

Sunderland were held to a draw by Oxford, with both sides scoring in the first half. Here's how the lads rated out of ten...

RON-THORBEN HOFFMANN 6/10: Didn't have to make any outstanding saves, but did the simple things well. Kicking still looks a bit suspect at times.

LYNDEN GOOCH 5/10: Gave the ball away far too cheaply, including for their goal. Often guilty of trying to do too much in possession when the simple pass was on.

BAILEY WRIGHT 7/10: Pretty commanding in the tackle and dominant aerially, and impressed even at right back when we switched to a back four. Perhaps lucky not to have been sent off for a second yellow card challenge though.

TOM FLANAGAN 7/10: Solid at the back and reliable at the back, kept his concentration throughout and some good distribution from defence.

CALLUM DOYLE 7/10: Tidy in possession, and did a good job covering for Dajaku defensively.

LEON DAJAKU 6/10: Despite a good finish early on, Dajaku looked very raw throughout and his decision making was poor. Still looks like a good potential talent though with some nice footwork at times.

DAN NEIL 6/10: Wasn't able to get forward as much today, but protected the defence well and won the ball back high up the pitch in a mature performance.

CARL WINCHESTER 6/10: Plenty of energy, pushing forward more as Neil stayed back. The Northern Ireland man covered so much ground in midfield.

ALEX PRITCHARD 8/10: One of the few players with any attacking prowess today, Pritchard did really well to create Dajaku's opener and released Gooch similarly on the right wing. Always looking to find space and create chances.

NATHAN BROADHEAD 6/10: Energetic, but needed to show more quality on the ball. Came extremely close late on though, hitting the post with a good effort that could have won the game.

ROSS STEWART 5/10: Isolated up front and never got a sniff in front of goal, apart from where he hit the bar and arguably should have scored. Stewart's hold-up play wasn't as good as usual, and it was a rare occasion where he didn't have a positive impact on the game.

SUBS

ELLIOT EMBLETON 7/10: When he came on, everything positive came through Embleton. He was looking to push forward and just needed a bit more quality in the final third.

AIDEN O'BRIEN 5/10: Anonymous from the bench.
