PLAY-OFF FALLOUT

Following last night there are lots of rumours regarding Tony Mowbray's future, whilst Amad has given an emotional goodbye message to Sunderland fans.

AMAD GONE

The Luton game was officially Amad Diallo's final game in a Sunderland shirt. He's a loan player who clearly bought into the club and the fans, which is reflected by the message he posted on social media:

"Hi guys, I know you are sad, we all are. a group of young guys who fought until the last minute, I can only be proud to have been part of this team. No regrets just proud of what each of us has become over the course of the season. Thank you for the love i will support you for the rest of my life. HAWAY THE LADS."

Thank you for the memories, Amad.

MOWBRAY CRAIC

Despite Tony Mowbray exceeding all expectations and leading Sunderland to the play-offs, there has been a lot of speculation about his future. In recent weeks the gaffer laughed off suggestions that he was considering retirement, but now TalkSport are reporting that he is "fighting to save his job".

Salzburg boss Matthias Jaissle, Francesco Farioli & Gerhard Struber are among the contenders to replace him.

He's got a year left on his contract, and has a track record of taking young players under his wing and improving them - no more so than this season! If our 'model' is all about increasing the value of our players, why would you replace Tony Mowbray after such a successful season?
