Championship football is back! We spoke to the guys from That Millwall Podcast to discuss how the first half of the season has been for them...
Last time we spoke, Millwall were 14th in the Championship. Now you're up to 6th - what's improved?
I think the back four has really helped since Gary Rowett has changed from the back five. It’s really allowed our attacking players to have some fluency and meaning to their play.
Tell us about your top scorer Zian Flemming...
Zian Flemming has been a cracking signing for us. His goals and quality on the ball is second to none, and I’ve been so impressed with his work rate. A top Championship player with bags of potential.
How's ex Sunderland captain George Honeyman done since signing in the summer?
George started off well but struggled to get into the side on a regular basis after Flemming’s return from Injury. Before the break he played a few games on the right and did well- fans love his work rate!
Which SAFC player worries you the most?
If fit Ross Stewart I think his eye for goal and superb hold up play could cause problems. Otherwise, Amad Diallo looks an exciting player and scored a brilliant goal against Birmingham a few weeks ago.
What do you think of manager Gary Rowett?
Gary Rowett has really stabilised our football club. Despite fans getting frustrated, and rightly so at times, he has done well to change our formation and hopefully we can keep going.
What's your score prediction? Who will get the goals?
0-1 Millwall - Zian Flemming.
Where do you think both teams will finish at the end of the season?
Millwall 6th - (I hope), we are certainly good enough for it as long as we keep the momentum going. Sunderland 12th - a comfortable season for Sunderland, and one that will set you up to push on next season...
