OPPOSITION VIEW: AFC WIMBLEDON

We spoke to Wimbledon fanzine SW19's Army to look ahead towards Saturday's game against the Dons. Here's what they had to say...

Wimbledon are unbeaten in League One so far. What's been the biggest positives from the side this season?

We're so far unbeaten (until Saturday at least), and the best thing is that we've more or less continued off from how we finished last season. We look stronger, despite being what I think is the youngest squad in the entire Football League, organised and with the bit of grit needed. Obviously, being young, there will be moments where inexperience shows - dropping two points against Gillingham in the 97th minute on Tuesday is a good example of that.

Which Sunderland player worries you most?

Any player who can exploit our left-back position...

Joe Pigott left Wimbledon in the summer. Has he been a big miss in front of goal?

Yes and no. Obviously, when you lose a 20+ goal a season player - especially on a free - then you'll notice it. The good thing from our point of view is, so far we've scored seven goals in four games and all by seven different players. So we're not relying on just one individual, which is what we did last season.

Have you made any marquee signings in the summer?

It's mainly been youngsters on loan from Premier League clubs. One player we have got in though on a permanent deal is Luke McCormick from Chelsea, who already marked his account with a goal on the opening day. We also saw the return of defender Darius Charles, from Wycombe, although he's more there as a motivating force in the dressing room.

Who's your biggest dangerman? Can anyone hurt Sunderland on Saturday?

Ayoub Assal, a 19-year old who despite occasional moments of petulance has come through our youth setup and made our midfield his own. Not bad for somebody who barely played at all for us before March last season.

What will the score be on Saturday, and who will score?

Head says a 1-1 draw, as we're a lot more confident under Mark Robinson, and only drawing against Gillingham still hurts. But we're due a defeat and Sunderland will be smarting from losing at Burton. So I will say 2-0 to the home side, with Ross Stewart and Aiden O'Brien getting one either side of half time.

Where do you predict Wimbledon to finish this season?

We're more than capable of getting a finish akin to mid-table mediocrity this campaign, which will be a significant improvement on previous seasons. That will depend on whether we can avoid a run of getting 2 points from 33 at some point, that ultimately crippled former manager Glyn Hodges.

And finally, where do you predict Sunderland to finish?

The expectation always has to be play-offs at bare minimum, and automatic promotion has to be the aim. Sunderland should get the former, but the latter is always tricky to predict. Three games in though, I will stick my neck out and say you'll finish second behind Wigan. So you can blame me when I get it wrong.
