ONES TO WATCH: COVENTRY

Here are five Coventry players to watch out for when we play them this weekend…

GK - BEN WILSON

The Coventry goalkeeper is a Mackem, but that isn’t the main reason he is on this list. Last season he won the Championship Golden Glove for the most clean sheets, so statistically he was the best goalkeeper in the division. He also helps Coventry retain possession as he's excellent with the ball at his feet.

CB - KYLE MCFADZEAN

The centre back is Coventry’s most experienced player and he is a threat from set-pieces. His size and physicality makes him the heart of Coventry’s backline. He is also helping out some of the new young centre backs Coventry have signed this summer, and seems to be one of those players with so much EFL experience he can walk through games. Danny Batth-esque, some might say.

ST - HAJI WRIGHT

The striker was brought in this summer to help replace Viktor Gyokeres and he has started the season well. Wright has already picked up a goal and an assist, so he has shown that he can create chances and score goals. Not to mention, he is also 6ft 3 and a threat in the air.

ST - MATT GODDEN

Matt Godden has been one of the Sky Blues most reliable performers over the last four years. He has already bagged two goals so far this season and his movement in the box makes him a good goal poacher. Definitely one to watch out for this weekend.

ST - ELLIS SIMMS

Every Sunderland fan knows about Ellis Simms and what brings to the team. However, he hasn’t hit the ground running at Coventry, so he will be eager to score his first goal for the club. After all he did cost the club a fee rising to around £8,000,000. I wouldn’t be surprised if Simms is on the bench this weekend, but no doubt he'll come on and score...
