One month to go until our promotion campaign begins and Sunderland seem to be actively looking for more defensive reinforcements. Meanwhile Aiden O’Brien has found himself a new club.
AIDEN O’BRIEN ON THE MOVE
Former Sunderland player Aiden O’Brien has relocated but is staying in League one, he has made the move from Portsmouth to Shrewsbury Town. He leaves Pompey on a free after his short term contract had run out and he has signed a two year deal.
DEFENSIVE STRENGTH
On top of news that we’ve kept Bailey Wright on and Daniel Ballard looking like a nailed on signing, the defensive signings aren’t going to stop there. We’re reportedly interested in Leeds centre back Charlie Cresswell, who made five appearances in the Premier League last season.
DERBY DEFENDER ON THE RADAR
Derby County left back Craig Forsyth is another name on the list of potential incomings. His contract is up with Derby after spending nine years at the club so he is available via free agency. This would be more of a depth signing but his experience could be vital, especially if he could give some of his advice to some of our younger players.
