It’s been a busy Tuesday on Wearside, there’s been no official dealings however Sunderland are looking more active in the transfer window, former players are on the move and Michael Chopra is back in the game?


DANIEL BALLARD TO WEARSIDE

Young Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard, who spent last season at Millwall in the Championship was in talks to join Burnley on loan however talks have broken down, leaving a space for us to swoop in. Interest is certainly high for him, with Blackpool and Millwall both interested and we are stepping up our interest with some saying we are leading the race to sign him.


ANOTHER RUDONI BID REJECTED

According to reports we have kept up our pursuit of AFC Wimbledon man Jack Rudoni, who we've been linked with extensively and have previously bid for. Our first bid was rejected and now our new offer has also been turned down. We're quite clearly interested in the 21 year old and we’ll see if Sunderland will send a third offer.


GRIGG TO MK DONS

Will Grigg has been training with MK Dons recently as he tries to regain fitness ahead of the upcoming season, of course he spent time at the club on two separate occasions, once on loan in 2013-14 and again in 2021. MK are going to need to bolster their attack having lost young star Scott Twine to Burnley and maybe the 30 year old is the one for the job.


TIGERS TO LIONS

Former SAFC player George Honeyman has moved on from Hull and remains in the Championship as he completes his move to Millwall. He has left the Tigers for an undisclosed fee and he’s signed a long term contract with the Lions


COACHING STAFF SHAKEUP

With the recent news of the club letting go of goalkeeping coach David Preece and first team coach Phil Jevons the club look set to promote from within, with Mark Prudhoe, who has been with the club since 2011 working with former talents such as Jordan Pickford. Meanwhile the club are also set to promote Under-23’s coach Michael Proctor who has seen his involvement in the senior squad increase over the last season.


CHOPRA AT NEW CLUB

A surprising one for today as 38 year old Michael Chopra has found a new club, six years after leaving his latest club. He stopped playing football in 2016 after he left Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League back in 2016. He now finds himself at West Allotment Celtic in the Ebac Northern League Division One.
