A few things have happened over the weekend aside from our 0-0 draw at the SoL to Preston. We already have the quick turnaround when we host Blackpool tomorrow and a former Sunderland player has a new club.

BRIDCUTT IS A SEASIDER

Former player, Liam Bridcutt, has joined a new side. Interestingly he has joined tomorrow’s opponent’s Blackpool. He only joined them two days ago so an involvement against us would be a bit of a surprise.

CHRIS WILDER SACKED

Middlesbrough have sacked Chris Wilder earlier today following a poor start of the season. Boro currently sit in the relegation zone having won two of their eleven games this season, one of them against us of course.

When hearing about the sacking, Tony Mowbray said:

“I think football management is becoming harder and harder. The social media aspect of it is what resonates with me, although we all understand that you have to win football matches.”

CATTS EARNS NEW ROLE

As a result of Chris Wilders' sacking, Lee Cattermole has earned a new role at Middlesbrough. He is now in an assistant coaching role to the first team. Catts has been with Boro since 2020 when he joined as an Under 18's Coach.
