NEWEST INJURY UPDATES

Lee Johnson has spoken about the progress of Corry Evans and Dennis Cirkin, as well as Denver Hume. The gaffer has also given an update on Lynden Gooch's injury...

EVANS/CIRKIN

“I suppose a couple of players are back in tentatively so we can control the chaos as much as possible. That’s Corry Evans and Dennis Cirkin."

HUME

"Denver Hume is not a million miles away now. He’s had three or four days full training, he’s looked good. He looks like he’s moving well, he’s confident and comfortable on the ankle. I expect him to come in sooner rather than later.”

EVANS

"Corry, at the moment, just keeps getting this little feeling on his quad and every time his leg contracts to extreme levels, he’s still feeling it a little bit. It’s just a couple of days off the pace with him."

CIRKIN

"Dennis Cirkin is doing really well. Really that one is a conversation. With a double hernia, you’re good to go pretty quickly when you are good to go so it’s just whether he can cope with striking a ball full tilt and he’s getting up to that. I’d say he’s probably 90 per cent of the way there for a full recovery but very positive.”

GOOCH

"He’s positive about it. We haven’t seen him on the grass this week because the mindset was that we’d give it as much healing time as possible before we do a fitness test on it. He’ll probably have one on Friday."

SOLUTIONS

"We’ll plan for having him and we’ll plan to be without him. It’s just one of those tricky scenarios where with so many games, we may choose to leave him out of this particular one. Any player we lose is going to be a blow, and we’ve had to work really hard to find those tactical solutions of late. Players have had to buy into changing positions, and buy into us trying to find moments in games where they can bring their natural assets."

LAST THREE GAMES

“Lynden is a really good example of that, particularly the last three games where he’s played really, really well. He made a slight mistake against Oxford United but has then gone on and had a really positive impact on the next two games.”
