NEIL: WHAT TO EXPECT

Updated: Jul 21, 2023

Alex Pritchard played under Alex Neil in 2016 and knows the manager well - it was Neil who brought Pritchard to Carrow Road in an 8 million pound deal. After our 1-1 draw against Wimbledon, Pritchard has detailed the managers expectations for the club and reiterated Neil's most salient demand- that of hard work and pride in the shirt.

HARD WORK

''Hard work, that's a given, you have to work hard. When you are playing for Sunderland you have to work hard and that is the number one rule.''

PRIDE

"You should wear the shirt pride because it is a privilege - that's what the gaffer said at full-time, and we know that, the boys know that.''

DIFFICULT

"It's been a difficult period but now we've got a point, stopped the rot and we can have a good training week with the new gaffer starting from Monday and go into the game (MK Dons on Saturday) knowing what the gaffer wants.''

MANIC

"It's difficult when the gaffer comes in on Friday and you only have one day with him, but we'll have a full week next week so we'll be better. It's settled down now and we can get back to what we were like before now everything has changed. We had a manic two weeks but now we can settle down and have a full week of preparation."
