The boss has hinted at a potentially weakened side to face Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow evening, giving a chance to a few of the younger players who are trying to make a name for themselves.

“Obviously different context, the importance to that game, the build-up to that game and the first leg we produced a really good performance at our place. It’s going to be very different in the first round of the Carabao Cup. It is a different competition and a different feel to the game but equally it still has importance.”

“It’s a chance too for guys to show what they can do and freshen things up a little bit, there are so many games ahead and it’s important to get minutes in the legs. It’s an opportunity for some guys to show what they can do and put their claim forward. I always think these competitions early on in the season are important.”
