NEIL POST LINCOLN

Alex Neil described Sunderland's goalless draw with Lincoln as a "missed opportunity", and believes the team did enough to comfortably win on another day...

DESERVED TO WIN

"It's a strange one. If you look at the performance as a whole, it certainly deserved to win the match comfortably in my opinion. I thought it was a really good performance and we created more than enough chances to win."

DEFENDED WELL

"We limited them to very little, the only real danger they had was when the game became bit scrappy in the second half, and I allowed it to flow. Initially we sort of stopped everything they did and countered off the back of it, and we should have scored."
