MOWBRAY'S SHORT TERM GOAL

Despite a setback against Hull City, Tony Mowbray still wants Sunderland to pick up as many points as possible, to remain with an outside chance of making the play-offs come the end of the season.

GOOD RUN

"I feel as if we have some good games to play. Cardiff away now they've won a game, it will take some anxiety off them. Birmingham and Huddersfield come pretty quick, both home games. There are potential points for us to grab. Let's see if we can take it the last two or three games to make it exciting. I want to make it exciting for the supporters."

WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO WIN

"If we lose the next two or three games, the last thee games are really nothing. It would nice to hang on (against Hull) and win 4-3 because then everyone's buzzing, going into Cardiff to get a win. Then two home games and you'd be sitting there thinking you know what we might be able to sneak in. But let's see if we can take it to the last three games to make it exciting for the supporters. A 0-0 (against Burnley) and a 4-4, only a point from both, but for this new team, we're doing OK, we just have to keep growing and learning and getting better."

FATIGUE

"You tell footballers that they are tired and they'll use it. They were in training on Saturday and we started again. We trained on Saturday, we trained on Sunday and then flew down [to Cardiff] but then it'll be six-and-a-half hours [on the bus] to come back. We'll go to Cardiff and give it our best shot without any excuses about tiredness or fatigue or anything like that - we just have to get ready to go again, and that's part of their education. In the Championship, there are lots of parts of the season where you are playing three games in a week and we have to be ready to do it."

LIHADJI/BA

"Isaac needs to play some minutes, Abdoullah needs to play some minutes. We will make some changes when we feel it's right."

AMAD

"Amad is a wonderful talent, we know that it took him a week or so after the international break to get back up to speed. He's just a good footballer who picks the right pass, who makes the right decisions, who gets the weight of the ball right. For this club and this team we have to give experience to some young footballers to get them used to playing in the Championship."
