MOWBRAY RELAXED DESPITE DEFEATS

Tony Mowbray remains positive despite losing three on the bounce. He believes we've been unlucky with results recently but luck will even itself out over the course of a season.

RECTIFY THE ISSUES

"I don’t think we have to do anything specific. I think the team’s performance levels have been pretty high, it’ll turn around if we keep on doing the right things. I don’t sit here and think we have to do this or we have to do that. I think chances come, chances go, they either end up in the back of the net or they don’t, it affects the game. We’ve lost the last two games really through defending set plays, which has been pretty positive for us over a long time now. I think we’re pretty good at that statistic when I look at the league data, we’ve been pretty high on defending set plays but it’s cost us. I think ultimately the inability to score more goals has been an issue for us over the last week or two from the chances that we’ve created. So without knowing exact numbers I think we had 17 shots at Stoke and shots was it the other night, you’ve got to score goals."

IT WILL BALANCE OUT

"Opportunities come along, big chances, half chances but generally I think overall the identity of the team is still strong and we believe that over the longer piece we can play as well as we know we can, we will win plenty games and I’m pretty sure we are more than capable of winning three or four on the bounce as we go forward and it'll all balance out. The good teams, the better teams finish at the top end and the less structured teams finish at the other end so I’m pretty sure we’ll finish in top end, it’s just again there’s a lot of good teams in this league and a lot of good teams who are going to be very competitive so lets see where we ultimately end up but like last season was up and down, this season is up and down, the data’s there and we have to accept it, we’ve lost three games on the bounce and yet, its pretty tough to take in the way them games have panned out but we have to accept it and keep working hard and it will turn for us I’m sure."

GOOD PERFORMANCE AGAINST LEICESTER

"I think the performance level of the team is what’s important and if the performance level stays high the results will follow. It doesn’t always mean that if you play well you’re going to win but generally if you have a consistency about what you do and how you train and how you play and the demands you put on the team, the results will follow generally. We have a lot of faith in that and we’re not doing anything different from what we did last year and we lost games last year, we went through some spells of difficulty and you come out of the other end and that’s what we have to do. So just keep going, keep believing, keep working hard with the team. It’s a balance at times, you know with the rotation of players coming back from injury and the international breaks that we’ve had and you know we have to be careful we don’t go to the well too much with all the same players but a few starting to get almost ready again and over the weeks coming, I’m sure we’ll see a few changes as we move forward."
