MOWBRAY PRE MILLWALL

Tony Mowbray has issued some injury updates ahead of tomorrow's Championship return, and insists that the team won't be taking Millwall lightly.

STEWART

“Ross mixed it up a bit in Dubai’s training sessions between the team and individual training – today was his first full training session. He came through it smiling and wanting to do extra shooting, which suggests he is ready to go, but we’ll discuss whether it’s worth the risk when we then have a nine-day gap before West Brom and we have other forward players in good goalscoring form. We’ll chat with Ross and discuss the best course of action after training on Friday.”

OTHERS

“Lynden and Aji are fine – the week’s training and the friendly match helped their progress. The pair of them are both back fit and training as normal which is a boost for us. Ellis Simms is also back 100%. He played and scored at Birmingham before the break, which set the tone for him to continue strongly.”

OPTIONS

“We’ve sat here and talked for a long time about playing with no strikers and now we're on the verge of having both of them back, but during that time Diallo has undoubtedly come to the party with his amazing performance levels and great goals. The options at the top end of the pitch, whilst they might be difficult for me to decide who's playing on any given day. Throw Clarke, Pritchard, Roberts and Embleton into that and all of a sudden you've got some decisions to make which hasn't always been the case over the last couple of months.”

MILLWALL PREP

“We’ve started studying Millwall, we’ll be looking at their set-plays and stuff for a couple hours this afternoon and sorting out training for tomorrow and then somewhere along the line we’ll watch a World Cup game.”

RESPECT

“They went to the best defensive team in the league, Preston, and scored four goals in their last game, Preston away is a tough fixture for anybody so we are respectful of them. Gary Rowett has been around a long time, he’s a good football manager and he knows how he wants to play. Millwall is always a hard game because of the identity of that football club so I expect a very competitive game.”
