MOWBRAY PRE HULL

Tony Mowbray is prepared to learn from Monday's defeat to West Brom, and has shifted his focus onto tomorrow's game against Hull City.

WBA

"I think like any game we’re all disappointed, we have to reflect on how the game went. It’s not the first time this year where we’ve had spells in the game where we’ve been really good and then had spells where we found it difficult. I think that’s the league really, I think against some of the stronger bigger teams, that are better resourced it can be difficult, they’ve got good players. I think you could feel West Bromwich Albion's quality on the pitch."

MOMENTS

"I think it’s moments really, were England better than France over a full game? Probably, and were Morocco better than France? Probably, but it’s moments that win games. I think our game against West Brom wasn’t too dissimilar to that, a few moments of quality won them the game. I try not to be too harsh on the team, and I give them my frustration sometimes. We have to accept that there’s some decent teams in this league, but we have to stick together and keep working really hard. So, you deal with the disappointment and frustration, then you start the preparation for the next game."

ONTO HULL

"We have to deal with the problems they give us, they have a new manager, I think Liam is a good coach and having played against him when he was working with Wayne at Derby I know there is a football team that is going to try and use the ball and give us some problems. We’ve been trying to prepare for it today and hopefully we can give them some problems."

NEW MANAGER

"It’s practically every team that’s changed manager this season, I think 8 out of the 24 teams have changed manager, generally we look at data and stats of where a team might be in the league, when it comes to shots on target, possession, duels or crosses to see where they rank. Certain managers focus on different things, so these stats will change over time. A lot of things have improved at Hull under Liam, and that doesn’t surprise me. I watched the game against Watford away and they got a 0-0. It’s tough to go to Watford with the quality of players they have got so you’ve got to say well done for putting such a good performance in. They’ll be looking to try and build on that, so we have to be mindful of that."

CHAMPIONSHIP IS TIGHT

"It looks top to bottom a little bit tighter this year, after 20 odd games I think there are some teams that are really struggling to pick up points, it seems to me that anybody can find a victory. Generally teams at the bottom of the table pick up wins in the last 10 games. For many years I found that you can’t write anyone off. I think that’s why everyone’s points total keeps ticking along and the league is very tight. We have to not focus on the league, and instead take each game as it comes. I don’t sit here thinking oh gosh we have to get promotion, I sit here thinking let’s try to win the next game and let’s keep the tally ticking on. If you're in with a shout towards the end of the season, then you go for it."
