MORE FROM MOWBRAY POST ROYALS

Tony Mowbray is proud of the Lads after their performance last night but he knows now isn’t the time to dwell on the performance. With Watford on the horizon all the attention moves to the tough fixture on Saturday.

IMPORTANT WIN

“Yeah really important. I think we’re still trying to instil the principles of how we want to play with the team and I think there were a lot of positives tonight. We want them to be brave and play but not suicidal around their own box at times and I think they got the balance right, when to play forward, when the keep the ball and when to drag the opposition about. I think the great thing about tonight was the quality of the goals that we scored, we talked a lot in the press conference about who’s going to step up and score the goals and obvious when Ellis came off that was a blow to the team that they've lost their centre forward but for Patrick to score the goals with the quality he did and Jack to finish that brilliant move off was great for the team.”

WATFORD

“They're enjoying it in the dressing room after the match but I told them to get their feet on the ground quickly. We have a game in a couple of days against a team who will be hurting having lost at Blackburn midweek and they are probably favourites to finish in the automatic places so we know it's a tough test, they'll have watched tonight and they'll make sure that they give us different types of problems.”

ROBERTS

“I’ve got no doubts about Patrick’s quality. You know I got a connection along the way that Patrick was amazing for Celtic and he grew up as a kid at Man City and listen, it’s great that he's playing for our football club and he has the quality that he's shown tonight. We need to keep loving him really, keep hoping he can find the performance level that he found tonight on a regular basis and if he does then it will be happy days as we move forward for the team because he will create and score goals and at his moment without our main centre forward we need other people to step up and Patrick did tonight.”

EMBO

“Very good, listen he's a wonderful player Elliot Embleton. I do talk to him and I say ‘Listen, it’s almost criminal that you're not in this team with your talent but you have to trust us. I can't just put every attacking player in the team because the balance in the team wouldn't be right and we would lose more goals’. He understands, he knows that it’s tough for certain players to play every three days and I will sit them on the bench sometimes and he will get his opportunities and if he's doing well and scoring and creating then he’ll stay in the team because I like his talent and I like his confidence in his ability to be honest.”

SATURDAY

“Looking forward to it, for me the journey of Watford starts either tonight or tomorrow. Sometimes you don't sleep after games when your adrenalines flowing, so I'm sure we'll end up watching a bit of Watford tonight at the hotel and we have to try and find the best way to go and play against them and see if we can give them some problems. We understand they have some real high quality individuals who can hurt any team in this league but collectively we'll go and hopefully give them some troubles.”
