LJ POST WYCOMBE

Lee Johnson spoke to the press following Wycombe's "gut-wrenching" equaliser...

PERFORMANCE

"I thought it was a great advert. Two sides with contrasting sides, I thought it was outstanding. I really enjoyed our performance. Obviously you have to battle, we have to deal with that action where they go direct from the goalkeeper into Vokes. Vokes and Akinfenwa are world class at just getting a touch, so we had to start high in our line, we had to be brave and make sure we had cover and balance. Actually we dealt with that really well. Obviously the two set pieces are disappointing to concede, one we should have got an earlier better clearance, and obviously the last one at the death is just a gut-wrenching goal to concede."

POSITIVES

"However, I thought we were brilliant. I really did. The way we moved the ball around. I thought their goalkeeper's had a worldie, how Jacobson's cleared that off the line I'll never know! Just so many positives today. The pitch was in really good nick which suited us to play our stuff, but so many quality moves and interplay against a really good side."

CREDIT

"We've got a game on Tuesday so we've got to dust ourselves down really quickly. In result terms it's a point gained, we've put the game on and credit should go to everyone for that. Players as well because there's a couple there who maybe wouldn't have played through injury if we'd had a fully fit squad but they've got out there and gone again. Obviously bringing Jack and Hawkesy back, and Patto who I thought was outstanding today by the way. it's good to see our young players fit, back in the side and looking like they haven't been away."

STEWART

"He [Stewart] was outstanding but you've got Pritch, Goochy, Embo. They can all spot a pass, they've all got a love and feel in their feet which I think is important. Rossco knows if he makes the runs there's a good chance in him receiving it.I really liked his second goal, we work on that a lot in terms of getting accross the near post and that sharp movement. itr was good delivery, both goals in terms of one and two were great deliveries from wide. There was just so much good philosophy today and that's why i'm just gutted to not come out with three points."

EVANS

"I think he's alright. I think he was just knocked out so the concussion protocol probably comes into play. It's good to hear that he's okay, it was a long and anxious wait but a typical brave action from Corry Evans. It's what you need in your captain and hopefully we can spin him round pretty quickly."

COVID

"We can't be victims, we've just got to turn up and play like we did today and take that into the next set of league games, The boys have got to recover quickly and we go again."

FANS

"I thought our fans were brilliant. they stuck with us and I think they appreciated the lads' performance. They'll be as disappointed as we were in the end, but they found the strength within them to cheer and clap the boys off when it could have been a frustrating one. But we're on the right path, we keep going, we stay strong and we keep trying to improve."

LINCOLN

"They're all big games. We've got to maintain that level of performance and keep working on the things we're trying to improve on. I think if we perform like that on a regular basis, the results will come to us."
