LJ POST BURTON

Lee Johnson has spoken following Tuesday evening's defeat away to Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium, the loss to the Brewers was the first this season and broke an opening run of three competitive wins.

DISALLOWED GOAL

"I wasn't moaning about the disallowed goal, I was angry about the lack of time added on at the end, it was supposed to be four minutes, but it ended up being about three. There was loads going on and Burton were wasting time, but I felt that we could create an opportunity in every minute at the end. For the goal, though, I looked at the linesman straightaway and I thought it was offside."

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

"I thought we were really good. I thought Burton were good in terms of their solidarity and their set-plays, but I thought in our general play we were very slick, very solid. We had fantastic control and created some brilliant chances right from the first 20 minutes when we could have been a couple of goals to the good, but even though we didn't finish we kept going and I can't really pick out any individual to say they didn't perform or didn't give it a go. We have to just up our final ball, and today it was just about quality in the final third - we have it in abundance but Burton's good defending and our inability to pick out that important goal-ball stopped us. I think if you play that game 100 times, we would win 85 of them. I think if we had scored first and Burton had come at us, it would have been a bit more of a basketball match. But instead they had a back six, sometimes a back seven, and that becomes hard to break down. You have to give Burton credit, their goal was a great finish, they have had two good chances, they have had a great start to the season. But subjectively, looking at my team's performance, I thought it was alright. Our crowd will probably go home scratching their heads thinking 'we did alright there'. They were with us to the end, which was nice to see. You can't play as well as that and get in the final third as much as we did, and consistently fail to win games. I think we have enough quality footballers to prise teams open, but tonight Burton's defending and our lack of a final ball cost us. Every game is tough in League One but I thought we had more cohesion today than we did at MK Dons. Obviously, we didn't get the end result we wanted tonight but we had more possession, more final third entries, more shots on target. I thought Nathan came on and looked sharp, the new boys look like they are gelling, although we are still a couple of positions short and we know that."

INJURY UPDATE

"It's a tough one with Corry Evans. Because we recruited him late, we were chasing his minutes and he was getting fit through games at 80 percent. He's got a low-grade hamstring injury, but we think he is a quick healer so it is probably going to be 10-14 days."
