LEEDS UNITED: ONES TO WATCH

An away trip to Elland Road will provide a stern test for Sunderland who will be hoping to build on Saturday's 0-0 draw against Bristol City. Whilst players like Jack Clarke, Patrick Roberts and Aji Alese are all back for Sunderland and will provide a huge boost for Tuesday’s game, Leeds have a number of players that can cause damage, hence their league position. Here are three players that could provide the biggest threat for the hosts...

CRYSENCIO SUMMERVILLE

The only player with a higher average match rating than Jack Clarke, Summerville has been outstanding for Leeds with 17 goals and eight assists in league competition. His ability to take on his man and make something happen is up there with the best in the league and comes as no surprise to see his name linked with some of the European clubs. Sunderland were able to keep him at bay for large parts in the reverse fixture. However, doing that again could prove a difficult task.

GEORGINIO RUTTER

Given his £35.5m price tag, it should come as no surprise that he features in this list. Rutter joined Leeds in January last year and struggled to make much of an impact in the top flight, even though is big money move from Hoffenheim in Germany sparked excitement amongst the Leeds fanbase. However Leeds’ relegation proved helpful for Rutter to find his feet in the country and his impact has been pivotal for Daniel Farke’s side this season. The Frenchman has six goals and 17 assists to his name so far. His ability to operate in any forward position is certainly a key factor to that.

ARCHIE GRAY

Gray is the latest youth product to come out of the Leeds academy and he is destined for the top.

Already with sides like Dortmund and Liverpool sniffing around for his signature, Gray has very quickly cemented his place in the starting eleven for Leeds. He can operate in midfield or at full back, where he was playing in the reverse fixture and did a somewhat reasonable job keeping Jack Clarke quiet. At any age that is some feat, but especially at the age of 17. Leeds stand a good chance of retaining his services should they achieve promotion, but anything less could prove to be the time that Gray moves on.
